Visual Culture Captured
Welcome to this collection of digital photography representing
visual culture, from Limahuli to Las Vegas and Paris to Palm
Beach, as captured by me. In addition to portraiture, I shoot
a lot of fashion and documentary photography, and hope you'll
have a look at the fusion of the two, subconsciously or consciously
spotting the links. Academically trained as an art historian,
I look for the visual and intellectual contrasts within each
photograph, and with respect to other images.
If politics, economics, history, or psychology bleed through
as a part of this visual commentary that can be recognized
throughout this online photography collection, then it is
primarily due to a secondary consequence, as my point of reference
is beauty, if not curiosity.
